I. Development of Group-wide process governance structures

Scope of commission

An automotive manufacturer commissioned us to set up efficient, group-wide process governance structures based on the data of the BPM tool used, with the aim of identifying areas where action is required and providing the responsible persons throughout the group with a suitable database for exercising process governance.

Initial situation

Process governance is insufficiently implemented as the existing reports do not contain the required information and are time-consuming to create. In addition, the data quality cannot be fully assessed and potential for increasing data quality and utilising synergy effects cannot be identified. The client would therefore like to provide all stakeholders with suitable governance structures. The focus here is on keeping the database up to date and minimising manual effort. A direct connection of the database to a suitable BI tool was already in place.

Solution approach

In order to avoid manual effort (especially manually extracted reports), the connection of a suitable BI tool to the database of the BPM tool used is utilised. Firstly, the requirements relevant to process governance are identified, taking into account the needs of the stakeholders. The data from the database is then analysed and cleansed and prepared in the selected BI tool. This allows both suitable reporting to be developed and suitable visualisations to be created with a focus on comprehensibility and usability. User training on the reports and visualisations ensures sustainable maintenance and use.

Results

In addition to identifying extensive clean-up potential, efficiency gains were also realised in the area of process governance. As all analyses are now based on the same database, process governance can now be controlled centrally and the data is kept up to date with minimal manual effort. The solution also offers flexible analysis options for individual ad hoc enquiries.

II. Customer behaviour analysis for e-commerce companies

Scope of commission

Our task is to support an e-commerce company in analysing customer behaviour in detail. The aim of this analysis is to generate personalised recommendations for customers and thus significantly strengthen customer loyalty. These personalised recommendations are intended to increase conversion rates and significantly improve overall customer satisfaction.

Initial situation

The e-commerce company was characterised by decisions that were made on insufficient information and without an objective basis. This led to mistakes being made repeatedly due to a lack of in-depth knowledge about the customers. Conversion rates were at an alarmingly low level. At the same time, customer satisfaction was declining, indicating that customer needs and preferences were not being adequately considered. In this situation, the company was faced with an urgent need to fundamentally rethink its business strategy and rely on data-driven insights to improve performance and restore customer satisfaction.

Solution approach

We structured the existing website data and created an automated reporting system on this basis using a BI tool. This made it possible to analyse purchasing behaviour in detail, identify customer product preferences and track customer interactions on the website. In addition, a suitable strategy was used to respond to customers by introducing a machine-learning-based recommendation system that provides individual product recommendations based on past purchases and behavioural patterns.

Results

The new insights and more targeted customer approach increased conversion rates and customer loyalty. This resulted in a higher shopping basket value and a sustainable increase in sales based on higher customer satisfaction and increased repeat purchases.
